Cookie policy

The cookies and browser storage CostPlain uses, from strictly necessary ones to analytics and advertising, and how you can change your choice.

Effective November 3, 2026.

This policy explains how CostPlain (costplain.com) uses cookies and similar browser storage, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our privacy policy. Questions go to contact@costplain.com.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way. Some are needed for a site to work; others measure visits or support advertising.

Strictly necessary

  • Your consent choice (gcm_consent, browser local storage): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics and advertising cookies, for one year. It holds no personal information.
  • Security: Cloudflare may set cookies such as __cf_bm to tell people from bots and protect the site.

Analytics

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*, up to two years): counts visits and shows which pages are read. Where consent is required, these are set only after you accept.

Advertising and Google AdSense

This site is funded by ads, which may be served by Google AdSense and other ad partners. Google and its partners use cookies (such as __gads, __gpi, IDE and DSID) to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance and prevent fraud. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites.

Personalized ads use these cookies to choose ads based on your interests. Non-personalized ads are chosen from the page you are reading and your general location, and still use cookies for frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention. Where consent is required, personalized ads and advertising cookies are used only if you accept them.

Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can turn off personalized ads from Google in your Google ad settings, and opt out of some other vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.

Your choices

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the consent banner asks before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link at the bottom of each page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them, though ads may be less relevant.

Changes

Ad partners and the cookies they use can change. When we change this policy, we update the effective date above.
